Bandipur Adventure Camp

Top choice in Bandipur

This new bargain option is in its own category. A tent camp on a mountaintop, with amazing views of Manaslu towering over the Trisuli River, it's run by a dynamic young management, and makes the perfect backpacking stop. The multicuisine restaurant bakes its own bread, pasta and pizza, and the small bar serves beer to match.

On weekends in high season there's live music. All sorts of adventure sports are on offer: hiking, caving, paintball, rock climbing, canyoning and even off-road motocross. The tents are basic, with shared bathrooms, and roofs to keep the sun off. They will hold four people if they all know each other really well. A purpose-built lodge is only a work in progress. It's a 10-minute walk to town, but located next to the highest mobile-phone tower in the area, so you can't get lost coming back.
