Lonely Planet review for Lido Bar
This diner-style local favorite, with sidewalk seating opposite the Pantheon, serves a variety of Paraguayan specialties (excellent sopa paraguaya - cornbread with cheese and onion) in generous portions for breakfast and lunch.

Like a 1950´s US Diner
sharminator1 recommends this,
A little bit more expensive that other local places for the basics like empanadas .. but well worth it.
The waitresses are all dressed in 1950´s style uniforms, the empanadas are huge, and the fruit juice and milkshakes delicious.
Great for lunch, breakfast, or dinner.

Oldest dinner in town
claup46 recommends this,
When you go to Lido you need to know you are going to the oldest dinner in town. If you are in the mood for snacks dont miss their "empanadas" and if you want a traditional taste go with the famous "pira caldo". You might think the waitress some times are rough or unpolite, but dont there fighting them, they are an institution by them selves and a part of the tradition of eating here. Lido Bar it's a great place to sit, relax and a have a feel of the life in Asuncion.
