Trou à Tortues

Loyalty Islands

Up in the north near St Joseph, the Turtles Hole is down an unmarked dirt road, then along a 50m path through the bush. An immense hole in the limestone is full of water and connected underground to the sea. Sit patiently and turtles are bound to appear. This is also a great place to spot the protected Ouvéa green parrot.
