Introducing Golfo di Castellammare

This gulf just west of Palermo is as far west as many Sicilians will ever get, and even then, most locals have only visited its beaches. Those prepared to be a bit more adventurous will discover the unspoiled Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro, quaint settlements built around historic baglios (manor houses) and tonnare (tuna-processing plants), and a coastal landscape dotted with tempting swimming coves. Added to all this are the ancient ruins of Segesta, only a short drive inland.
