Tacumshane Windmill

County Wexford

Tacumshane Windmill is a rare survivor of the mills that once dotted this landscape, and is the only complete windmill in the Republic of Ireland. Built in 1846 using timber washed up on local beaches, it sports a cute thatched cap. It's on a minor road, 4km west of Our Lady's Island; ask for the key at the neighbouring Meyler's Millhouse Bar & Restaurant.
