Timishgan Khar

Ladakh

Originally King Dragpa-Bum's 15th-century fortress, Timishgan's three-storey palace site has an obvious defensive strength commanding the confluence of the Tia and Ang valleys from high on a central crag. Come for the views and to visit the Buddhist shrines and monastery.

While there's a foot path up from near the Namra Hotel, the best views of the ensemble are from halfway up the vehicular road.
