Calibishie is an attractive fishing village with the best beaches on the island. It makes a good stop for lunch or an overnight stay, particularly if you’re catching a morning flight from nearby Melville Hall Airport.
Ask locals for directions to various tiny beaches on coves. A favorite is at Batibou Bay at the end of a 1km bumpy dirt road; after heavy rains it's often only accessible by 4WD. This coconut palm-fringed crescent has good swimming and snorkeling with a coral reef just offshore; there's a cafe.
