Old House at Wong Uk Village

New Territories

This grey-brick house inside Wong Uk Garden is all that's left of an 18th-century village that served as a hub for merchants who plied the trade route between Guangdong and Kowloon. The two-storey house, built in 1911, has a few fine murals and friezes, but large parts of the interior walls are covered patchily with white paint.
