Memorial Hall of the Lingnan School of Painting

Guangzhou

This excellent little museum on the campus of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts pays tribute to the founders of the Lingnan school of painting, such as Gao Jianfu. Considered revolutionary, the Lingnan school advocated the modernisation of traditional Han Chinese ink-wash painting via bold colours and the inclusion of western artistic movements such as impressionism.
