Beijing’s most beloved flea market sells almost every Chinese knick-knack imaginable. It’s a great spot for souvenirs, but bargain hard and treat any claims of antiquity with scepticism. Not much goes on here during the week. Instead, get here early on the weekends for one of the most fun shopping experiences in Beijing.

    I like this market. It's only on weekends and is best on Sunday. It opens late (8am) in winter and earlier during the summer. Go early and bargain hard. Loads of arts and crafts from different parts of the country. Most tourists don't make it here so the prices may start quite high (they see foreigners from a mile away!) but you can get it rather cheaply with a hard bargain. Please remember to bargain with a smile...
