Lonely Planet's affiliate program enables you to earn revenue via your website. Joining the program is quick and easy and we are committed to providing a commission well above industry average.

How the program works

Affiliates drive traffic to the lonelyplanet.com shop via links on their website (or customer emails). These links include code that enables us to track referrals and sales activity.

On all sales that originated from your website, an affiliate will earn:

  • 10% commission (Commission Monster)
  • 15% commission (Commission Junction, Affiliate Window)

Affiliates can log in to their affiliate account to:

  • track sales levels in real time.
  • access a range of Lonely Planet creatives including banners and skyscrapers.
  • view the latest Lonely Planet products, promotions and special offers.

Program management

Lonely Planet's affiliate program is provided by global leaders in affiliate marketing. They have the technology and tools to ensure we have an industry-leading program that maximises sales potential and is easy to use.  

To fit with Lonely Planet's key markets and office locations, we have appointed three affiliate providers:

What are the benefits?

The affiliate program provides the opportunity for you to generate revenue via your website. The program is simple to use and provides easy access to the complete range of Lonely Planet books, and promotional tools including online marketing creative (banners, skyscrapers etc) and monthly sales promotions/incentives for shoppers. Additionally, as you will be joining the Lonely Planet program via one the leading affiliate providers (Affiliate Window, Commission Junction, and Commission Monster), you will also have the option to join other affiliate programs managed by them.

How do I get started?

Simply complete the online application via either:

Commission Junction (The Americas)
Affiliate Window (UK and Europe)
Commission Monster (Asia Pacific)

Once your application has been approved you will be able to log in to your affiliate account and access the relevant links.

Which affiliate provider should I join?

The choice is yours. Affiliate Window (UK and Europe), Commission Junction (The Americas), and Commission Monster (Asia Pacific) each provide a great service. We have selected these three partners as they are located in the same key regions as the three Lonely Planet offices.

What does it cost to join?

Joining the program via either Commission Monster (Asia Pacific) or Commission Junction (The Americas) is free. Affiliate Window (UK and Europe) requires a refundable deposit of £5.
