Spurwing is more a place to unwind then a classic safari lodge. It's popular with Zimbabwean and South African families on fishing trips with their own boats and enjoying booze-filled evenings. Its picturesque grounds are full of trees and birdlife and it offers a range of accommodation from tented camping, cabins and chalets.
With Kariba's reduced water levels, these days it's no theoretically longer an island. From Kariba it’s a 45-minute boat ride; return transfers are US$75 per person.
