Owned and operated by a South African/Zimbabwean family, this long-running operation is in a leafy compound around 4km out of Chipata along the road to Mfuwe. Simply furnished rooms with mosquito nets are in a low-slung building; nearby are small but clean cheaper rooms with shared bathroom facilities and a campsite popular with overland groups. Its social bar is Chipata's best spot for a beer.
Meals (T-bone steaks or schnitzel with chips and salad around ZM60 to ZMW120) are served in the bar festooned with South African rugby flags. Transport to and from town is ZMW50, or ZMW100 to the border.
