Surf Snowdonia

Surfing in Snowdonia National Park (Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri)

Lying just outside the national park's eastern border, in the lush Conwy Valley, is this unexpected little slice of Maui: an adventure park centred on a vast artificial wave pool (open 10am until sunset). If learning to surf (adult/child £55/45) doesn't excite, there are lagoon 'crash and splash' sessions (£25 per hour), kayaking, walking and a soft-play centre for kids.

There's also a cafe-bar, a restaurant and on-site fixed camping, if you want to dally, while the Electric Wave festival is held on the 'lagoon' shore in late July. Surf Snowdonia is signposted off the A470 from Llandudno Junction to Betws-y-Coed.
