This is an area of ancient history and myth. West Wales is where the valleys begin to widen and the landscape starts to lend itself to farming more than industry. This is the area of South Wales where you are more likely to hear the Welsh language used in the street as a first language. The area is dotted with quaint old towns and picturesque villages which seem untouched by time. The South West is the home of Pembrokeshire coast national park, and is an area renowned for the beauty of its beaches and coastline. For the lovers of castles there many to discover with Carreg Cennen, Pembroke and Kidwelly being three of the most impressive. An example of a tour could be visit to the wonderfully preserved Norman Castle at Kidwelly, followed by a stop off at Dylan Thomas’ former home at Laugharne followed by lunch in the beautiful medieval port of Tenby. Also marvel at the size of Pembroke’s Norman Castle, the home and birth place of Henry the 7th.
