Enjoy a 5.5-hour, guided bike tour of the countryside near Hoi An. This small-group (up to 12) is a fun, safe, and beautiful way to immerse yourself in the daily life of Hoi An and Quang Nam Province. Cycle hidden alleyways and rural paths from the historic center to picturesque villages, farms and fisheries. Visit artisans and local families sharing memories of life in the countryside while you sample fresh fruits and foods of the region.
Start with pick up from your from your DaNang hotel between 6:45am and 7:30 am. From there you will be transferred by private car to the historic district of Hoi An. The early morning start insures cooler temperatures and avoids the crush of tourists in town.
Explore hidden passageways and winding alleyways of Hoi An's historic core, stopping to photograph the iconic Japanese bridge. Crossing first the canal bridge near the night market as you continue to the new bridge connecting Hoi An proper and its southern villages. Within a few minutes you will stop to visit a local family making Banh Beo in the traditional method. These small savory rice flour bowls are a common breakfast staple in the countryside.
The ride continues to a beautiful village where you are welcomed into a family home. The tour turns rural, cycling past rice fields and vegetable farms along small canals and waterways towards a boat building site. Fishing is still the lifeblood of the province and the hand-crafted construction of these vessels is amazing to witness and photograph. If the timing is right, you'll also have a the opportunity to witness entire families repairing their fishing nets between journeys at sea. The roads narrow again to concrete paths and your final stops include a traditional mat weaving shop and a family distillery where rice wine has been produced in the same manner for generations. It's a short ride from here to where you board a local ferry for a trip back to town. Have your cameras ready for great views of the Hoi An waterfront. Once dockside, it's a short 5 minute ride through alleyways back to the bike shop.
Along the route, you will be provided cold water and fresh fruit snacks ad even a stop or two for coffee or tea. Tour ends at approximately 1:30pm with drop-off at your hotel.
