Cycle the scenic countryside to the UNESCO World Heritage site of My Son on this bike adventure from DaNang. A private vehicle will transfer you from your DaNang area hotel to our central meeting point near the old quarter in Hoi An. Following your tour briefing and bike safety instructions we cycle the alleyways of the ancient district into the surreal countryside nearby, an area teeming with farms, villages and friendly locals. Visit a local market, a traditional weaving shop, and there's a stop for fresh fruit and a Banh Mi, a tasty local sandwich.  At the entrance to historic site we board the UNESCO sponsored electric carts for a short ride up the hill to Cham site of My Son where your guide leads you on a personal tour. After exploring My Son we return first to Hoi An by private van and then on to your hotel in Da Nang. Total cycle distance approximately 25 km.
After transfer from your hotel, we gather this morning at our our conveniently located shop up a small alleyway in central Hoi An. Your guide helps fit your bikes and offers safety instructions before we head off. Cycling to the riverfront of the historic district long before crowds descend we continue across the river. Leaving the city behind on our way to My Son we venture onto rural pathways accessible only to bikes and motorbikes. Before long we are pedaling through small villages, past family farms and rice fields, greeting workers in the fields along the way.Depending on the season we pass rice, corn and even sunflower fields in the beautiful rural landscape of the region. For much of the morning we sneak through a network of shortcuts and connections that only locals would know. After replenishing with a healthy snack of fresh fruit, local coffee or tea, we arrive at the entrance to this UNESCO World Heritage site of My Son. New regulations require we park our bikes and board electric shuttle vans to the main ruins. The temples and towers of My Son were built by the Cham people, initially Hindu then later of Muslim faith. The Cham Kingdom once dominant in the region was eventually conquered by Vietnamese with descendants of the original tribes now scattered throughout the region, mostly along inland waterways.  Following out tour of My Son we board our private van for the transfer back to Hoi An and then on to DaNang.
