Tour description provided by Viator

Step into a food paradise on this Private, culinary Ho Chi Minh City tour. Try many unique combinations of flavors of Vietnamese cuisine with the help of a local guide. Vietnamese food is hot and trendy as it offers a delicious variety of tastes and dishes to choose from. From salty, sweet, sour, and spicy flavors, the food combinations are endless! See such sights as the Ben Thanh Market and visit a number of local Vietnamese restaurants on your journey.
Make your way to Ben Thanh Market, where you'll meet a guide and start exploring the local goodies that surround the bustling shopping area, among the oldest surviving markets in the world. Start big with a combo plate of steamed flour rice cakes with dried shrimp, or bánh bèo, along with bánh bột lọc, a shrimp and pork tapioca cake. Throughout the whole trip, the guide will show you a number of city highlights and hidden gems, and you'll learn the story behind each place you pass. The next stop is at a small family business that makes delicious banh mi hong hoa, a Vietnamese sandwich with a French colonial history. Afterwards, enjoy a sugar cane drink with a hint of lime and jump on a "grabtaxi" to Turtle Lake, a favorite hangout for young locals. Soak up the  atmosphere and taste a traditional mixed rice paper dish, then try a green papaya salad combined with marinated beef and sweet and sour sauce. The next tasting is bánh xèo, or sizzling crepe filled with sliced pork, whole shrimp and bean sprouts, perfect with a glass of locally-brewed Saigon beer. Follow up the bánh xèo with a sweet treat, chè, a dessert made from fruit layers and sweet coconut cream, then finish the tour with a Ho Chi Minh City-style coffee break. This tour concludes at the original departure point.
