A pleasant one-hour stroll, this lovely 2-mile loop skirts the southern shore of one of the park’s biggest natural lakes. Begin from the parking lot on the lake’s eastern end, adjacent to the sandy beach. Walk south along the beach, and look for the trail amid the trees just ahead. As the path traces the shore, spurs lead down to the water.
Though the shoreline is rocky, there are several nice spots for a picnic. When you reach the western end (and the Sunrise Trailhead), it’s best to either wait for the free shuttle bus back to the parking lot or simply return the way you came.
