Sleeping

There are numerous privately owned and operated campsites, B&Bs and roadhouses all around the borders of the park, as well as lodges and hotels within areas like McCarthy and along the Nabesna Rd. Wrangell-St Elias is also home to 14 very basic public-use backcountry cabins. Most are first-come, first-served, but three can be reserved on the park website (www.nps.gov/wrst). No permit is required for backcountry camping; use bear-proof food containers.
