Welcome to Wenatchee
In the age of virtual reality and lightning-fast messaging, the definition of Wenatchee can be condensed into six familiar letters: apples. Pink Lady, Gala, Braeburn, Golden Delicious; the varieties are endless in a city that describes itself as the 'Apple Capital of the World' (the region produces more than half of the total US crop). On the banks of the Columbia River, Wenatchee's position is eye-catching even if its mall, fast-food and cheap-motel–infested suburbs aren't. The town itself isn't exactly teeming with pulsating distractions, but there are plenty of outdoor adventures nearby and, with its handy transport connections, Wenatchee is an OK place to crack open your suitcase for the night and sample a slice of apple pie.
