Named for its previous incarnation as the mail-sorting room for the city post office, Poste does the nouveau-brasserie thing with style. Fork into top-notch steak frites, crispy duck, and wine-and-herb-sauced sea bass, among other dishes. The outdoor courtyard is one of the best alfresco dining spaces in the city.
Poste gets green points by using vegetables and herbs from its organic garden, composting its food waste and offering a list of organic and local Virginia wines. Note the kitchen shuts down between 2:30pm and 5pm.
