Unlike some of its 14th St neighbors, nothing particularly wild or trendy is going on at this airy restaurant. Instead you'll find solid, well-spiced northern Thai dishes, such as a yellow curry with egg noodles or deep-fried pork with sticky rice. There's sushi too, but the Thai menu reigns supreme. Save room for the coconut milk fritters.
It pays to remember that Baan Thai is on the 2nd floor – the 1st floor is occupied by a different Thai restaurant.
