Happiness reigns in Dacha's freewheeling beer garden. Kids and dogs bound around the picnic tables, while adults hoist glass boots filled with German brews. When the weather gets nippy, staff bring blankets and stoke the fire pit. And it all takes place under the sultry gaze of Elizabeth Taylor (or a mural of her, which sprawls across the back wall).
It can get packed with a bro-hugging crowd as the evening progresses, but in general everyone remains good spirited and willing to share a table. Dacha becomes an unofficial gay hangout on Sundays.
