Join Barbara to view the wonders of the Stained Glass Art of the Washington National Cathedral. The stained glass windows of the Cathedral tell biblical stories of faith as well as those of American history. From founding fathers to astronauts to farmers… American values and spiritual principles are beautifully magnified as the sunlight illuminates these jewels. You will want to bring your camera to capture the kaleidoscopic colors! From Gargoyles to 215 stained glass windows, you will end your tour with more photos than you can count, and a true appreciation of the artistry of the stained glass windows. See how this sacred art incorporates a moon rock, a piece of the wailing wall, animals, and American landscape.
The tour begins at 1:00 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in with your tour guide. Group will meet inside the Visitor's Entrance (on the left corner of the Main Doors). Your Entrance Fee has been waived on Sundays. Donations are welcomed. We recommend parking in the Cathedral’s underground parking garage. There is very limited parking on the Cathedral grounds and in the surrounding neighborhood. Entrance to Parking Garage: Enter via Wisconsin Avenue, at the traffic signal just south of Woodley Road. Your guide will walk you through all public areas of the Washington National Cathedral with a focus of the stained-glass window art work.
