Your guided walking tour begins with a mele (song) of Waikīkī to establish a sense of place that is unique to Hawai'i. On your journey you will stop at several sites that are historically significant such as the Sacred Stones. Your cultural guide will unfold the path of the Night Marchers through historical facts, documented legends and stories as told and even experienced by locals. The path begins along the shores of Waikīkī with the storytelling of unfulfilled glory, lost souls and Hawaiian mysticism. Unknowingly, you will find yourself in the uplands of Waikīkī in Kapi'olani Park and perhaps unaware that the sun has set and the stage of twilight is set for the Night Marchers.Your guide will bring to life the legends of the famed Night Marchers. Hear the stories of Kamehameha’s great conquest of O'ahu which began with his fleet of canoes landing on the beaches of Waikīkī. Learn about the gathering of large armies of warriors by Kamehameha to attempt the invasion of Kaua'i. Kamehameha failed not once, but twice to complete his quest of Kaua'i. As the evening approaches, learn of the ancient heiau (sacred site) situated on Diamond Head. Visualize the approximate paths the Night Marchers have taken on their futile journey time after time for hundreds of years.The guided walk is about half a mile.
