The best way to explore is by car. The I-81 and I-64 are the primary interstates here. The largest airport is Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport. Amtrak stops at the train station in Staunton and the Virginia Breeze bus service to/from Washington, DC, stops at Arlington, Front Royal, Staunton and Lexington (tickets $15 to $50).
