Welcome to Donelson & Music Valley
The Grand Ole Opry rules the roost in Music Valley, where the legendary radio show is flanked by the massive Gaylord Opryland Resort, Opry Mills Mall and a flashy array of music and entertainment venues. This suburban neighborhood is about ten miles northeast of downtown. Two large parks offer outdoor distractions. Donelson, home to the Nashville airport ten miles east of downtown, has been somewhat ironically dubbed Hip Donelson, due to an ever-growing population of new residents fleeing skyrocketing real estate prices in creative enclaves like East Nashville. Former president Andrew Jackson's 19th-century plantation, the Hermitage, borders Donelson to the east.
