Monteverde General Store

Gold Country

This building goes back in time to when the general store was the center of the town’s social and economic life, represented by the chairs that circle the pot-belly stove and the detailed historic scale. Senior docents lead tours by appointment. If you're lucky, sometimes the building is open on weekends.

Otherwise, it's worth walking by to have a look through the window at the wide counter and high, well-stacked shelves.
