The center of the action is Central Ave between 2nd and 3rd Sts, and within a block on all sides. Many Beach Dr restaurants also have lively bar scenes late, particularly Bella Brava. Kicking off each month, 'First Friday' is an evening block party and giant pub crawl with live music that takes place on Central Ave.

St Pete's Craft Beer Craze

Since the opening of Dunedin Brewery across the bay in 1996, there’s been a growing enthusiasm for locally produced craft beers in the Tampa Bay area. Tourism officials even started marketing a craft-beer trail from Tarpon Springs to Gulfport. Here are five of St Pete's best downtown breweries:

Brewers Tasting Room Experimental brewpub with a rotating lineup of beers made by home brewers, accompanied by Cajun food and live music. Located 10 miles north of the Museum of Art.

3 Daughters Brewing A 30-barrel brewhouse with a range of styles from light sessions to barrel-aged stouts.

Green Bench Brewing A red-brick garage now does duty as a 15-barrel brewhouse with a family-friendly beer garden.

Cycle Brewing Hipster brewhouse with sidewalk seating serving 24 rotating taps of world-class beer. No website but it's on social media.

Ale & the Witch The ‘Burg’s favorite tap house, serving more than 32 craft beers and a $7 ‘witch flight’, consisting of four 4oz sample servings.
