This 43-mile National Scenic Byway unfurls across the leafy heights of the Allegheny Highlands and Plateau, passing four overlooks with expansive mountain and valley views. It's an exhilarating drive that soars toward the sky, rising from 2235ft to over 4500ft. The highway rolls north on Rte 39/55 from Richwood to the Cranberry Nature Center. From there, hop onto the 22-mile parkway section on Hwy 150.
Picnic tables and restrooms are located at each overlook. Note that the parkway section is not maintained in winter and is typically closed December through March. More than 150 miles of trail can be accessed from the highway.
