Neighborhood hangouts are the rule in Southeast Portland – each part of the quadrant has its own pocket of cool, and in most of these there's an excellent bar or two. Dive bars are fewer and farther between than in years past, and these days people actually come to this part of town from across the river for nightlife. Streets to seek out include hectic Division St, reliably fun Hawthorne Blvd, slightly mellower Belmont St, and the former industrial areas of inner Southeast, where lots of new distilleries and cider makers have cropped up.
