Southeast in detail

Planning Tips

Top Tips

Though Southeast Portland is served by several bus lines, they're really only ideal for traveling between east and west, along the quadrant's major thoroughfares. Biking is the most efficient way to get from north to south in the area between SE 12th Ave and SE Cesar Chavez Blvd.

Local Experiences

  • OMSI After Sark Once the crowds and kids clear out, Southeast's science nerds head to the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry for the OMSI After Dark series, a monthly, alcohol-fueled exploration of various scientific subjects, just for grown-ups.
  • Southeast soul Rather than hitting the manic dance floors in Old Town on Friday nights, neighborhood locals cut a rug to old-school soul tracks at the Goodfoot.
  • Viva la Revolution Hall School is back in session with regular lectures, concerts, film screenings and other events in the auditorium of locally loved Revolution Hall, a venue set in a former high school.
