Southwark Restaurant

American in South Philadelphia

Southwark takes its name from the early 18th-century name for this part of the city. Their bistro-style menu is short, but sweet, with several good pasta dishes (in entree and main sizes) and comfort food such as roast chicken breast. In warmer weather there's a pleasant courtyard garden in which to dine.

The front of house bar is worth visiting in its own right for creative and potent cocktails with comical names such as the gin-based 'I can get you a job at the airport doing that' and the Arak-based 'Larger than life and twice as ugly'.
