Philadelphia Metropolitan Opera House

Live Music in Logan Square & Fairmount

This grand old dame, once the largest theater of its kind in the world, has sat largely empty and unloved for years. At the time of research major restoration was underway by Live Nation with the aim of reopening the 4000-seat venue by the end of 2018.

The 1908 building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, was designed by William H McElfatrick for Oscar Hammerstein I, the grandfather of Oscar Hammerstein II, and was used by various opera companies through the 1930s.
