Philadelphia History Museum at the Atwater Kent

Museum in Old City & Society Hill

Housed in an elegant Greek Revival building designed by John Haviland, this museum houses several special collections relating to the city's history. On display are paintings by Charles Willson Peale and his sons of local notables, a wampum belt supposedly given to William Penn by the Lenape people and the desk which George Washington used while serving as president in Philadelphia.
