Center for the Study of Southern Culture

Mississippi

Inside the Barnard Observatory, beside the Grove, this academic department is a treasure trove of documents and archival material related to the study of Southern history and culture, but it is not a museum. Of primary interest to casual visitors is the Gammill Gallery (9am-5pm Mon-Fri), which showcases Southern documentary photography.

During the school year, check the online calendar for the Brown Bag Lecture at lunchtime.
