Day 1: Portland City Tour & drive to Pendleton: Experience the City of Portland today! We will visit some amazing location such as Lan Su Chinese Garden, the International Rose Test Garden, and a local Portland chocolate company. Overnight Pendleton  Day 2: Wagon Train Excursion (B/D): This morning you will have the option of taking a walking tour of the Pendleton Bronze Trail. After lunch, we will explore Eastern Oregon in covered wagons pulled by mules and Belgian horses.  We will sit around a campfire eating delicious food and once you are ready for bed you can climb into your tent and enjoy the amazing quiet of Eastern Oregon.  Day 3: Wagon Train Excursion (B/L/D): Wake up early so you can take in an unforgettable Eastern Oregon sunrise. Today we will continue exploring Eastern Oregon by Wagon Train  Day 4:  Wagon Train Excursion (B): After breakfast we will drive to Pendleton where you will have the afternoon free.Overnight Pendleton  Day 5: Pendleton Makers Tour (B): Morning Activity: The Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon Hall of Fame.  Ranging from a full-sized teepee to delicate beadwork, the exhibits in the Hall of Fame cover a wide range of subjects and span over 100 years of Round-Up and Happy Canyon history.Afternoon Activity: Meet the makers carrying on traditional crafts in this amazing Western town! Tamástslikt Cultural Institute-  Tamástslikt celebrates the traditions of Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla Tribes.  You will  be able to tour their  exhibits,  meet tribal members in traditional Native American clothing, learn about the history between Native Americans & horses, & make & decorate a buckskin pouch. We will have dinner at the museum. Overnight Pendleton Day 7: Pendleton-Portland (B/L): Today we will visit the Sage Center which is an interactive visitor center that highlights sustainable agriculture and energy, then the Columbia River Gorge & Multnomah Falls! End of tour. *Please be aware that while on the Wagon Train Excursion you will be camping in a tent, and that there will be no bathroom facilities with running water available.  We will have a backcountry toilet for you to use, but you will not be able to shower while we are camping.

Old West Wagon Train Experience!

Wagon trains first began heading west in the 1820s with the opening of the Santa Fe Trail from St. Louis, Missouri. The emigrant trains to Oregon and California had their origins in the mid-1840s, hitting their peak during the 1850s following the California Gold Rush.  Find out what it is like to ride in a wagon train as these pioneers did, on the Old West Wagon Train Excursion!  Day 1: Wagon Train Excursion (group dinner)  This afternoon you will start an experience like no other.  We will pick you up in downtown Pendleton, Oregon and drive you to where you will start this once in a lifetime experience. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel in a covered wagon pulled by mules, eat food cooked over the campfire, and sleep under the stars in an area where the sky is so dark you can see every star above you? Today is when that unforgettable experience starts! We will spend the next three days exploring Eastern Oregon in covered wagons pulled by mules and Belgian horses. All of your meals during this Wagon Train Excursion will be provided for you. We will sit around a campfire eating delicious food and telling stories until you can no longer hold your eyes open. Once you are ready for bed you can climb into your tent and enjoy the amazing quiet of Eastern Oregon.  Day 2: Wagon Train Excursion (group breakfast/ lunch/dinner)  Wake up early so you can take in an unforgettable Eastern Oregon sunrise. If you want to sleep in you can, but don’t sleep in so late that you miss breakfast! Today we will continue exploring Eastern Oregon by wagon train. Be watching for deer, elk, eagles, and a variety of other wildlife as you explore the beauty of the Eastern Oregon forest by wagon train! Day 3:  Wagon Train Excursion (group breakfast) This is the last morning on the wagons so make sure to soak up the experience. After breakfast, you will be driven back to your car in Pendleton and you will be free to explore this wonderfully charming old west town!  ** Please be aware that while on the Wagon Train Excursion you will be camping in a tent, and that there will be no bathroom facilities with running water available.  We will have a backcountry toilet for you to use, but you will not be able to shower while you are camping.  Your tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad will be provided.

DAY 1: Portland to the Blue MountainsAccomodations: Hot Springs Ranch (or similar)At 1PM, enjoy complimentary pick-up from your Portland hotel (or centrally located meeting location) and begin your journey east by stopping at the iconic Multnomah Falls for light snacks. Then, continue through the Gorge and witness dramatic scenic and geological changes on your way to a classic cowboy town- Pendleton. After dinner (and a few local whiskeys?) reach your final destination for the night, a hot springs dude ranch where you can enjoy a healthy soak in their natural mineral pool. Dinner: At leisure in Pendleton, OR DAY 2: Wine, Lakes, & Stars (B/D)Accommodations: Mountain Tent Camping After an early morning soak and traditional breakfast, travel to Baker Valley where you'll explore local farms and wineries and meet local artisans before heading to Anthony lakes for a cast iron cooking lesson and communal dinner using locally sourced ingredients. Tonight's the night you spend stargazing, setting up tents, and trading stories around a camp fire. After camp breakdown, it's up the mountain on a great moderate hike to view 7 different lakes. End the day early in Baker City for an optional historic tour or free time.
