Artsy, beatnik little Yellow Springs was a counterculture hot spot in the 1960s and '70s, thanks to Antioch University. You can still buy a bong at the local head shop, but now galleries, craft shops and sustainable eateries cluster downtown. It's a sweet spot to post up for a day or two. Hang out at the local dairy farm to milk a cow or lick a made-on-site ice-cream cone. Limestone gorges, waterfalls and canoe-able rivers fill the surrounding parkland.
