Accommodation in this region is rarely a problem, although those cute B&Bs in the southern coastal resorts get booked up fast at weekends by San Franciscan weekenders. Camping or cabin stays can be a truly memorable experience in these parts with a plethora of state and national parks offering forested campgrounds among some of the world's oldest and tallest trees. Motels are another option, although considerably more plentiful on Hwy 101 than elsewhere.
