North Alabama in detail

Flights & getting there

While Huntsville has an airport, the most obvious point of air access to the area remains Birmingham. Both Huntsville and the Shoals are served by Greyhound. Huntsville itself can be accessed via I-65, which connects to Nashville and Birmingham, but the Shoals are off of the interstate system. Many of North Alabama's natural wonders, like Dismal Canyon, require long drives down winding secondary roads.
