Cafe in Brooklyn: Prospect Heights, Crown Heights & Flatbush

Floor-to-ceiling windows open to the street give this popular corner oasis a bright, airy feel. The menu features numerous egg dishes, salads, sandwiches and grain bowls; some Middle Eastern influence is seen in dishes like poached eggs in tomato sauce, mixed with cannellini beans with labneh (a yogurt-based soft cheese) and pistachio dukkah (an Egyptian spice mix).

For our money, though, the French toast – stuffed with crème brûlée and topped with banana, strawberries, walnuts, mint leaves and edible flowers – is among the best in Brooklyn.
