Baz Bagels

Jewish in SoHo & Chinatown

A shamelessly flamboyant combo of pink, palm prints and portraits of Dolly and Barbra, New York's campest diner keeps things fabulous with its hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels. Star of the show is the Mooch ($16), an epic concoction that's half Scottish salmon, half cold-smoked sable and utterly scrumptious. Bagels aside, other standouts include blintzes and latkes, the latter made to the owner's grandmother's recipe.
