Cherry-Blossom Festival

Cultural in Brooklyn: Prospect Heights, Crown Heights & Flatbush

Known in Japanese as Sakura Matsuri, this tradition (usually late April or early May) celebrates the pink, puffy flowering of the Kwanzan cherry trees along the famous esplanade of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The event comes complete with entertainment, refreshments and the photogenic canopy provided by over 26 flowering species. See the website for the most florescent times and places.
