Easter Sunday Parades

Parade in French Quarter

On Easter Sunday in New Orleans, there are no less than three parades: a 'regular' Easter parade that departs from Antoine's around 9:45am; a 1pm parade led by cabaret superstar Chris Owens; and the Gay Easter Parade, which kicks off later in the afternoon.

This last procession is the most spectacular, and family-friendly to boot. Expect lots of horse-drawn carriages and creative, handmade 'throws' (trinkets) for the crowd.
