Mayflower Brewing Company

Microbrewery in Plymouth

History has it that the Pilgrims drank more beer than water (because the water contained unsafe bacteria, but whatever). So it stands to reason that Plymouth should be home to an excellent microbrewery, mixing up some excellent IPAs, a golden ale and a porter, as well as seasonal brews. Tour the brewery or just sample the goods in the tasting room.

Incidentally, Mayflower's founder is a descendant of one John Alden, who was the beer barrel cooper on board the Mayflower. Beer in the blood, apparently.
