Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy

Birdwatching in Litchfield

Wanna see more than 60 species of waterfowl without sitting in a cold duck blind all day, freezing your body parts off? LRWC is the place for you, then. What began as a teenage hobby for former Yale Peabody Museum Director S Dillon Ripley is now a nonprofit dedicated to the protection of waterfowl and wetlands, spread over 16 lovely acres.

Guided tours and time with the resident falconer enrich the experience for the hard-core birders, while kids will love being there when the ducklings are born. October to March is best for the ducks' colorful breeding plumage.
