Tap Room Boom

Minneapolis is all in on the local brewing trend, and most makers have taprooms. Excellent ones to try for beer fresh from the tank:

LynLake Brewery The setting is ideal: an atmospheric, rehabbed former theater with a fun rooftop terrace.

Fulton Beer There's usually a fab pale ale and blonde ale among the selection that you sip at communal picnic tables in the warehouse. It's a few blocks from the baseball stadium and fills up on game days.

Dangerous Man Brewing Pours strong, European-style beers in the happenin' Northeast. You're welcome to bring in your own food (there's a choice fish-and-chips place a block east).

Surly Brewing Surly's sprawling, mod-industrial, family-friendly beer hall is mobbed by locals who come for the rotating taps and abundant meaty snacks. It's in the Prospect Park neighborhood, next to the university and a short walk from the Prospect Park Green Line rail station.
