Reservations are essential at this art- and antique-filled dining room in the Pentagöet Inn. The menu is a showcase of high-quality, locally sourced products, from grilled lamb with farm squash and zucchini to decadent diver scallops wrapped in prosciutto. The restaurant's best-known dish is lobster bouillabaisse with scallops, mussels and haddock served in a saffron broth. Great wine list too.
Be sure to stop by its pub before or after dinner and linger over a cocktail (try a refreshing ginger-thyme gimlet), while admiring the portraits of 20th-century statesmen and demagogues. The collection was assembled by co-owner (and magnificent storyteller) Jack Burke, who spent decades working in conflict zones all across the globe.
