Don't let the odd name and strip-mall location put you off; Luv2eat is something of a temple for LA's Thai foodies. Cordon Bleu–trained, Polo Lounge alumna Chef Fern and Thailand-bred Chef Pla offer generous serves of authentic chefs' specials, dishes you don't normally see even in this town loaded with Thai restaurants. They nail the standards, too.
You'll need a posse to attack the papaya salad with a sprawling tray of condiments. Then move on to jade noodles with three meats (barbecue pork, crispy pork and roast duck), southern Thai-style hat yai fried chicken or Phuket-style fish or crab curry. Crying tiger beef or pork might indeed make even adults cry (with joy and spice). Caution: even the 'medium' spicy dishes will definitely clear your sinuses!
Go with a group to try lots of tastes, or prepare to take home a bag full of leftovers – things could be worse.
